JeCCDO, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation, successfully organized a two-day joint field visit to Kombolcha and Dessie cities. The primary purpose of the visit was to provide the Foundation with an opportunity to observe the progress and outcomes of the PI-REWCAA project implemented over the past two years. By engaging directly with project participants, the Foundation aimed to gather firsthand insights into their experiences, challenges, and accomplishments.
The visit highlighted the program’s positive impact on the lives of women, demonstrating its tangible results and transformative power. On the first day, the team began its visit in Kombolcha city, where they visited 3 cluster enterprises comprising a total of 16 enterprises.
On the second day, the team traveled to Dessie city and visited 2 cluster enterprises comprising a total of 10 enterprises. Similar to Kombolcha, the clusters in Dessie brought together businesses working in the same sector, allowing participants to showcase their enterprises collectively. Over the course of the two days, the team visited a total of 26 enterprises that had participated in the PI-REWCAA project and successfully established and run their businesses.
After concluding the enterprise visits, the team held discussions with relevant government sector offices and Tsedey Bank Branches. These meetings served as an opportunity to express gratitude for the support provided during project implementation, to better understand the challenges stakeholders faced, and to explore ways to address these challenges moving forward.
The collaborative visit concluded with a debriefing session, during which the Mastercard Foundation team expressed their observations and appreciation for the outcomes observed. They commended the remarkable progress made by the women entrepreneurs and conveyed their satisfaction with the tangible impact of the REWCAA project on the ground.
This remarkable visit stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and the profound impact of initiatives like the REWCAA project in transforming lives. It is a story of resilience, empowerment, and progress that deserves to be celebrated and shared widely.
