PI-REWCA is a project initiated by Her Excellency President Sahlework Zewde. The conflict in northern Ethiopia has profoundly impacted the lives of people in Tigray, Amhara, and Afar Regions with women bearing a disproportionate burden. This pressing issue has driven the creation of the project.

The project is financially supported by Mastercard Foundation and being implemented by Jerusalem Children and Community Organization (JeCCDO) in consortium with Friendship Support Association (FSA) and Rohi Weddu Women Pastoral Development Organization (RW). The Co-implementer of JeCCDO, Tesfa Birhane Child and Family Development Organization (TBCFDO) is also contracted by JeCCDO to implement the project activities in the three woredas of North Wollo Zone.

The project is initiated to rebuild the economies as well as the emotional well-being of 80,000 women in 22 conflict-affected districts of Amhara and Afar Regions. The goal of the project is to enhance the lives of 80,000 women. This will be achieved by developing their entrepreneurial, business, and technical skills, providing psychosocial support, and access to financial services for 68,000 young and adult women entrepreneurs in three years project time, which is from Jan 2023 – Dec 20205.
