Project Background:
The project, titled ‘Integrated Humanitarian Aid for Conflict-Affected Communities in the Amhara, Afar, and Tigray regions of Ethiopia’, aims to improve access to food, cash assistance, and essential goods and services for internally displaced people (IDPs) in these regions. Under the leadership of JeCCDO, the project is implemented by a consortium of three local partners:
Mission for Community Development Program (MCDP) in Tigray and Rohi Weddu Pastoral Women Development Organization (RW) in Afar
JeCCDO is responsible for the implementation in Amhara and acting as the consortium lead Before starting the project, the implementing partners submitted project documents to regional government sectors for appraisal and signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) to clarify roles and responsibilities. Official project launch workshops were conducted to provide orientation and ensure stakeholders understood their roles throughout the project life cycle. IHA project is a 2 years project financially supported by GFFO-KNH.
Project Objectives and Targets:
The overall objective is to improve access to food, cash assistance, and essential goods and services for IDPs in the targeted regions.

Target Groups:
- 8,000 IDPs (1,600 households): Benefiting from food and cash assistance across Tigray, Amhara, and 23 host communities in Afar
- 15,000 people: Benefiting from improved access to safe drinking water
- 1,600 malnourished pregnant and lactating mothers and children: Supported with therapeutic and supplementary feeding
The project addresses the basic needs of war and conflict-affected IDP populations and includes life-saving and long-term livelihood improvement elements.
Project Result Areas:
- Provision of food aid for internally displaced persons, Provision of cash assistance and essential non-food items (NFIs)
- Strengthening protection mechanisms for women, children, people with disabilities, and other marginalized groups
- Improving the ability to resolve conflicts peacefully in IDP camps and the host communities
- Improving access to water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) facilities, and promoting good hygiene practices
